First, get rid of that nasty New.Net. Open
Add/Remove programs and uninstall
New.Net or
NewDotNet from there if listed. If it is not listed, follow these instructions:
· From a computer that has Internet access, click on the following link:
http://www.new.net/support/uninstall6_76.exe.
· Download and save uninstall6_76.exe to
Local Disc C
· Click on
Start.
· Click on
Run.
· In the Open window type,
C:\uninstall6_76.exe.
· Click on the
OK button.
· After removal, you may be prompted to reboot. Please reboot if not prompted.
If you cannot access the internet after removing New.Net:
· From a computer that has Internet access, click on the following link and download LSP-Fix:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
· Unzip it to the desktop and run it. Check "I know what I'm doing", and then select each instance of "
newdotnet3_23.dll" in the left-hand panel and click >> to move it to the right-hand panel. Then click Finish to allow LSPfix to rebuild the LSP chain. If the file "
newdotnet3_23.dll" is not there simply click Finish. Do
NOT remove any other file using LSP-Fix.
If IE still has the restrictions in place, go to the website below--> click "Win XP Fixes"--> from the list, find "Fix Internet Options Restriction" and folow the instructions for use:
