Hey Folks...

Could Zone Alarm be the cause of the problem? I have inserted a network card (the 1st one is built in and the light on the back is showing connectivity) and it is now showing "network cable unplugged" for both now. I am started to get a little discouraged because no matter what I try, I just can't figure it out. I do have a problem with startup of windows, it lags on start up. I have tried everything I can think of. But since I've been trying for a few days, I'm exhausted and am exhausting all my ideas... can anyone help at this point?

If your inbuilt card stopped working when you inserted the other one, you probably have a conflict. Check if they share the same IRQ etc.
