Question internet browsers

ok... as i was browsing around the net.. i am currently amazed on how firefox and IE explorer can be compared. even though there are a lot of features that firefox doesnt have like for onced some sites with html designs can't be viewed with firefox. well, so how about you guys here what do u prefer? firefox or internet explorer by microsoft. oh by the way the new updated version of internet explorer is comin up so watch out and stay tuned. hope that its even better than the 6.0 version. coz firefox is been used by tons of people already. and they use it coz it's faster than INternet explorer. ok people just wanna know your opinions.

I switched to Firefox expecting all these great performance increases and while it is a little better (tabbed browsing is ACE!) there are too many sites that fail to load or just go plain nuts. I'm sticking with IE until things improve...

I prefer Firefox and so voted that way. I do have IE available in case there is a site that has not yet "seen the light".
Firefox is faster, its tabbed, and isn't quite so vunerable to butthole attacks as is IE.
I will certainly take a look at the new version of IE when it comes out, but to tell you the truth, I doubt it will be anything great.

Have a nice day

True, the safety of Firefox is good, but how long will it be before those lil hacker idiots realise and start creating malware aimed at Firefox?

Malware?
It allready happened some time ago. From Feb this year:
Quote:
One of the main reasons for the Firefox browser's successful seizure of market share from Microsoft's Internet Explorer is the desire to escape the inundation of PC-slowing spyware. However, spyware experts indicate that with its increased popularity, Firefox itself will become a target for spyware creators, who are already poking at the open source browser alternative

Also of note are the vulnerabilities found. Though they are fixed quickly, the still exist.
Not quite so safe any more eh?
In any case, Firefox is plugin happy.

My choice is Maxthon. Which isn't a poll option.
IE stinks. Too little too late.

Disk_Contented,
If you read my post carefully, you will see that I said:

The plug-ins are optional I believe.

Now, tell me more about this Maxthon browser. I'm always open to suggestions. That's what makes the internet fun.

It uses IE's engine, but it's excellent. Have a look:

Firefox is my choice and will remain so for the foreseable future!
Granted, script kiddies are starting to find ways in to Fx but that is the beauty of Fx. It is open source software and anyone who finds a vulnerability gets a cash reward. This means that virtually all weaknesses are found prior to becoming a problem and if there is a problem, the open source community come up with a patch to fix it far quicker than M$ do.
There are lots of ways to boost the speed of Fx. Many of them can be found Here.
Maxthon has a good popup blocker but at the end of the day it is still only a skin over the top of IE. Therefore it is still as vulnerable.

Anyone wanting to try something different to IE but do not like Fx should give Opera8 a try. Very fast and there's quite a few plugins for it too.

Internet Explorer > Firefox

I like Internet Explorer because a lot of web pages I visit (including my own) have IE-only features. The other problem with Firefox is that the web pages look different, and if one thing annoys me the most in the world, that's definitely one of them. IE also fits in better with Windows, because I can just type in c:\ into the address bar if I have to.
