blocking sites
hello i have a sis who is HOOKED to myspace .. so my Q is 'is there a way to block certain web sites on certain days? or is it just blocked until u unblock it?

like if u want myspace or any other site blocked on certain dayz(like mon,wed,&fri) ...u know - but on the other days its not blocked ....
it there a way to do that?

I looked at several but they all cost. There could be a free one out there, you'll just have to hunt it down.

1. Go to windows/system32/drivers/etc/
2. Open hosts file in notepad
3. Type the following:
127.0.0.1 myspace.com
4. Save
By doing the above your computer will search myspace at 127.0.0.1 (localhost - your own computer).
Now all you will get is, cannot find server error when you try to access myspace. You can do this for any website.
If you remove, it will start working again.

Another way is through your router if you have one.

Hi Tool,
I am a new user of this site.I saw the above reply for one of the users ? of "BLOCKING SITES".
I tried it but its not working.i tried it for gmail.com,myspace.com etc.its not working.Can u plz help me...

Hi,
Am a new user and want to know how to block sites.i read ur previous posts and u got solution for blocking sites from The Tool,i tried it but failed.can u plz help me.
Its given there to type the site name just below the content in windows/system32/etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 site name.i tried but no result can u plz help........
