downloading problem!!!
when i use ares or any downloading program the program just says its connecting but it never does so does anyone know or have an idea what my problem is?

You don't mention what os you have or firewall etc, but have you allowed Ares and others net access through the firewall ???

Also, if you are on a network at university or school [or work]there could have been restrictions put in place by the IT department.
