Internet shuts down...Java? HELP

I hope someone out there knows about this. When I click on certain things on the internet, example....Yahoo Fantasy Football Stat Tracker, Yahoo Games or when I try to click the sell my product button on Ebay....the internet shuts itself down and goes back to the desktop. I don't know if i'm right in that it has something to do with Java scripting or not but i'm about to throw my computer into the middle of the street . Please help. Thanks

get mozilla firefox... i no this don't really help LOL. but it does fix that closing probelm. mozilla is beter and best serutiry and load pages faster and much MUCH More!

I downloaded Mozilla and had no luck. I went to open the pages that I had had problems with and the same thing happened....internet closes with no error messages and puts me back at my desktop. Any other suggestions?

I had a problem with Yahoo until I downloaded java runtime. You could give it a try and see if it helps.

I was having the exact same problem with my computer and was going nuts. So I typed in some keywords in search and was led to this site. After downloading the java runtime thingy, everything is working fine. So, I just wanted to stop in and say thank you for the help and this topic is still very helpful to others. Even though its 2.5 years old!!
