IP through AIM

So I heard that your able to find somebody's IP through the cmd prompt and netstat/a but when I do it I cant get it to work so well. I know the IP of the computer I'm using as a test rat but it doesnt show up. Anybody able to help?

You need to make a direct connection to the remote machine. i.e send a file.

Ok, so I did that and the actual IP still doesnt show up. I know the IPs on both machines but it only displays the IP for the computer I'm using. Thanks.

here's what you do...

run the netstat command BEFORE directly connecting, and save that to text pad. Then run it again once you are connected, save that, and then use the compare feature of DOS... or just look over it with your eyes

Try using this free tool from sysinternals.com.
The app monitors all local TCP traffic and will show connections to remote IP's
