Internet Connectio via Router

I have DSL online and i have been trying (unsuccessfully) to connect another computer via a Belkin router. When I connect the Ethernet cable directly to my computer, I am able to get online but when I connect the E Cable to the router and the router to my computer - i can't get online. I've hit the reset button on the router and - NADA! I'm on now because my ethernet cable is connected directly to my computer and not the router. BUT i need to get the other computer online. how can i fix this?

If your DSL setup is anything like mine, you have to plug the IP, DNS and Gateway numbers into the router through its interface and then set the computers to obtain those numbers automatically.

I've found it's easiest to then reboot the computer so it can then communicate with the router to get those numbers from it.

How to set the router up should be explained in the manual that came with it.
