Need some help please

I was having some problems with my IE so I downloaded Firefox as a new browser.I like using it,but only have one problem.I have dial-up for right now cause I just moved into a new home,and when my dial-up starts,the IE is still coming up when the internet starts.I have to x off the IE page and double click the Firefox icon on my desktop.
Im running Windows XP.
How do I fix this and have the Firefox come up instead??

You can try setting Firefox as the "default" browser. You can look under Firefox options or preferences.
