Help With Networking????? Confused!!!
Hi, im tryin to connect two pcs, one which is a Packard Bell UTOW, (the client), and the other, is mine, a EMachines 620 (the Host), i have been trying to do this with a Ethernet To Etherner connection (LAN), and i ran a Network Wizard to do the Set Up, and my pc would have the Internet connection. The Network Set Up was installed, and i ran the Network Set Up on the Packard Bell one, and thought that would be it, but it comes up when trying to enable it saying
"LIMITED CONNECTIVITY OR NO CONNECTION"
but it shows in Network Connections that this is connected on both pc's, but then it says, "ACCQUIRING IP ADDRESS" (on both pc's) and im not sure why its aking me that.....i thought that the Wizard would have sorted that out, so i thought i would ask the PROS.
It does State this all the time and doesn't do anything....
I have a THOMPSON SPEEDTOUCH 330 and its a USB plug.
the Network Shared Folder is not accessible, meaning when one pc drops something in to it, the other pc should see it in their Shared Folder, this doesn't happen...and My Network Places has nothing in it...
By the way its a LAN in each of the pcs already built in....if thats any help...
I have Zone-Alarm and AVG but have tryed with this switched off when running the Wizard.....and Windows Firewall is OFF....

Im hoping that ive given you enough to go by!! As this is bugging me BADLY!!!!!
I also bought another Ethernet cable just in case that one was faulty....
