It's an advertisment constructed so you'll think it's something "official" from Microsoft so you'll download their probably worthless software.

It's possible they've placed spyware on your computer to trigger that ad. If you haven't scanned for and removed spyware lately, there are good free spyware removal tools: Ewido, Spybot, CCleaner and Ad-Aware.

If you're running Windows 2000 or XP, Windows Defender is quite good. It has removed a number of particularly nasty spyware pests on my customers' computers. It also actively defends against more trying to get in.

Use at least two of the above, using more won't hurt a thing. Each scans a little differently so each may find malware another misses.

Don't sweat. That message pops up immediately to everyone who visits the site, and I've got online protection up to the hilt on my PC -- nothing gets in without me being alerted first and I'm definitely spyware-free. It's a pain having to say "allow this" and "block that" every few minutes, but it's the only way to stay 'clean' these days (unless you stay off the 'net altogether (which doesn't appeal to me).

So it's a deliberate false-alarm whose intention is just as Miz said. Worthless junk and a site to stay away from in future. Any business which resorts to such underhand tactics deserves nothing but failure. One of the many downsides to the superhighway.
