Question Broadband problem.Please Help.

My genius Freinds and experts,
Why I can't connect broadband?
I've 2 OS's(98 and xp pro sp1)
I have broadband(bb) connecction which i can use on xp pro sp1.It is working very properly on xp.
But when I want to setup bb connection from windows98 ,I CAN'T.
There is no option of "Connect to a network via broadband" in Internet explorer(version 6.0)

How I configure my connection in xp:
1.Install BB software from My ISP cd.
2.Open IE.CIilck on Tools>Internet option>connections(tab)>add>Connect to a network via. broadband
But there is no such option(connect to----bb)in windows 98.
Windows 98 always asks me for telephone number of ISP UNLIKE Xp.
My bb is HUAWEI 'Sterlite'

IE version Windows 98: 6.
IE ver xp :6.
Please Help me.
Thankue

few questions;

Do you have the Windows XP and 98 on the same machine ?

Do you have DSL line or Cable modem ?

How is the board band line terminated on your end ? Do you have a Router between your computer and BB termination point ?

With Windows 98, you don't have to run the IE wizard....as long as it is setup for DHCP, you should be able to start IE.

GO to start, RUN , type in "WINIPCFG" , Enter...you should see a pop up application telling you about your IP addresses, if you have IP address and DNS name and subnet address, then it means you are all set.

Cheers
