How can Norton Antivirus & AVG work harmoniously together?

I use Yahoo Mail(web-based e-mail service) and it boasts of scanning incoming & outgoing e-mail messages with Norton Antivirus. Everytime I open e-mail attachment it sure does it's job of scanning for virus(es). Now I also have AVG AV Free 7.5 and one of it's feature also is an e-mail scanner and in my case this feature is fully running as indicated in my AVG Control Center Security Status. Are there any chance of conflict between the 2 antivirus whenever Im working on my e-mails? Can I now safely disable this feature of AVG? And can I give Avira AntiVir PE Classic a try by installing it as my antivirus(then ditch AVG) since I've heard very good reviews about Avira AntiVir...it's just that Avira AntiVir PE Classic(free) doesn't have e-mail scanning feature?

your over bloating your system with virus software..just use one..or disable e-mail scanning in and out in,, on one of them..i use avg and avg antispyware thats it...i have been using for 2 years now and never had a virus..i did have norton but got rid of that,,norton uses to many resourses and takes longer to boot up and shut down..its bloatware as well. avg will stop any virus coming in through your e-mail,, its just as good,,i would say better than norton. and dont use ram like norton does.

^^No, I am not using Norton Antivirus. It is Yahoo Mail(my web-based e-mail service) which has the feature of scanning e-mails with Norton. And thus I'm wondering if I can switch to Avira AntiVir PE Classic (Free) which doesn't have e-mail scanner built-in so as to avoid duplication in scanning my e-mails. Since I'm using AVG(as my resident AV) currently I am into thinking that my emails are being scanned by 2 antivirus...Norton c/o Yahoo Mail and AVG which is installed in my pc.

You can turn off email scanning in AVG free edition. Security staus>email>untick. Thats it.
