IE7 problems - I really need some help

Anyone out there that is experienced with IE7 have you known of the following problem. I had an IE beta on my computer. When I attempted an upgrade to IE7, it could not install and gave me a message such as, can't install, can't find file c:\DOCUMEN~1\Miriam\LOCALS~\Temp\IE7-windowsXP-enu.exe. There was also a troubleshoot page provided by microsoft. However, I'm a grandmotherly type without experience in fixing registries etc. Is there some easier way to fix this so that I can install IE7. I can't understand how a company can make a universal software and have problems like this. Thanks for anyone that has an idea of what to do.

There have been so many problems reported on numerous forums with respect to IE7, that, IMO, I would revert to IE6, as per the following link: -

Alternatively, use a more secure and stable browser such as Firefox or Opera.

Personally, with the exception of sites that require IE, I tend to use Firefox 2.0.0.2 exclusively nowadays.
