Ethernet Adapter info for Router set up - please help

Dear Forum,
I have been on the telephone to my ISP provider today regarding my router being unable to connect (hence me using a modem at the moment. It was fine before I reformatted my hard drive a while ago. It's a netgear router.)
After a long and very expensive call and various (offline) tests, the technician informed me that my router is not connecting to my PC because it appears that I do not have the required 'ethernet adapter' which I apparently need for a connection to be made. This surely seems to be the case yet is puzzling me as I know I had it before but it most definitely seems missing now.
I know my PC is very old and pretty crap but hey, it's all I have at the moment and I'm no 'techie' so not sure what many things mean
I have looked at various sites on the net and there seems to be downloads available, however, I dont know which one to download :-(
Below are my PC specifications....does anyone know which 'ethernet adapter' I need to have and where the best place to download it from is?
I'm not even sure how/where to install the damn thing once/if it can be downloaded.
Please help I'm getting VERY desperate now and my PC is crap with the modem (Voyager 105) compared to how it was with the router.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Many thanks in advance:
