is firefox safe,re online banking

hi all, ive recently upgraded firefox to firefox 3, since then my bank has been saying i need to use a secure browser and suggests ie or netcape, i didnt have this problem with the old f/fox, i dont have this problem when checking c/cards on line only my own bank, any thoughts on this would be welcome as im a little unsure if i should carry on using f/fox for this sort of service, and thanks in advance.

I think the reason you got the security message from your banking website is that they mis-identified your web-browser with it being a fairly new version. The same thing used to happen when people updated to IE7 (especially the beta versions).

In reality the security warning is nonsense. FF3 is just as secure as FF2, if not more so. You've downgraded your FF3 uneccessarily in my view, but it's your choice of course.
