Wi-Fi Connection on my Nintendo Wii

I'm not a big fan of Nintendo products.
Although I do happen to own a Wii.
I generally don't like the Wii, as its capabilities are just way too shabby in my oppinion.

I have a problem with connecting to the Internet with it. I'd be fine with out it, but I know the possability is there.

Just recently we got a Wireless router, primarily for my dads work laptop. It occured to me that I could use that router to get internet for my Wii. Or so I thought?
When I go to the 'find connection' option, it works and finds the connection. Easy. Simple. Problem is having access to the connection. Apparently the Wii needs a password to do this. My dad never put a password on, and when he connects with his laptop, it just picks it up and works.
I have no idea what this password thing is? What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to change the settings on the Wii? I just don't understand what it wants from me. It's like my girlfriend. Wanting what I don't have. I swear you look lovely in those clothes and no, I don't know what brand it is. I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING.

If anyone could help or have any suggestions, it would be great
No pressure though, I can live without going online.

Ha Great comparison - apparently nobody has answered you in a very long time but ill try to help.

As you said, your dad didnt put a password on his wireless router wi-fi, but lets check. Every router will have its own default gateway, in my case it is 192.168.1.1 - If you dont know yours, you can easily check using the router manual, it may be written on the router itself or perhaps your dad knows. Anyway, with a pc or laptop connected to the router with an internet connection, type your default gateway into the internet. Usually, the company will ask for a username and password, but i presume it is still with its defaults. Usually both the username and pw are admin - but again you may want to check in a manual.

Once youre on, select the 'Wireless' tab - or something that closely resembles this. There should be an area which will ask if you would like to enable wireless security, or perhaps tell you that wireless security is enabled - if so then there is a password on the wi fi emitted from the router. If so, it should tell you what the pw is

Hope this might help - if not then sorry :P
