DSL Modem and Wireless Router

Alright I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm running Windows XP and I recently got a new modem and whenever I connect my DSL modem to my wireless router then connect that to my computer the internet doesn't work, but as soon as I go directly from my DSL modem to my computer it works. What can the problem be? Also my wireless router is a CompUSA router. So what can I do to be able to have my wireless router connected and still have internet?

You have to run setup software supplied with the router so that it can 'recognise' your modem, and before doing that the two devices must be connected up exactly as shown in the router instructions.

For DSL it's much easier to buy a combined Wirelss Router with built-in Modem. Much less hassle than two separate units.

Make sure the CompUSA router you've already got doesn't have a built-in DSL modem 'cos if it does that's why you're having problems. You can't connect it to a second modem. Just use it on it's own.
