Angry Internet DSL Connection Problems

Hi there !

I'm using Sympatico BELL DSL connection, and I've got a big problem... my i.c. is f()cked up.

Maybe someone could tell me an hint to stop my agony !!!

There's the point :

My connection fell in idle mode each 45 secondes when i'm surfing the net. My only solution right now is to close my connection and restart it again ...(its being so long looking for this forum with that trouble...)

My provider tells me that he can ping my modem and "ALL'S WORKING GREATLY" , he says.

Is there any register key for that ???
Is there any option to check in "internet option" ???
Is there a F**ing solution to that problem ???

PLZ HELP ME !!!

If its not the ISP then...

I would think it is the browser. Is all ok with settings in IE or whatever browser you are using. Can you do a "repair" on IE (I believe that is only with XP so can't say much there).

I will talk to our internet expert soon and if he has some great advice I'll pass along.

What do you mean?

Do you use a router?

Are you running behind a firewall?

Is 'Internet Connection Sharing' enabled?

If it was a dial up connection I would say it sounds like you have your email client set to 'send / receive when connection is established' and 'disconnect after download is complete'.

In Idle

'cause i'm not "great" in expressing my self in english...

i'll tell u "my modem fell it idle mode" in other words :

"My DSL's still flash (lights on it) correctly, but My Connexion manager (in Windows XP ; the 2 computers icons is the systray) is not flashing anymore."

It happens when i'm searching new server for Counter-Strike with HLDS or ALL-seeing-I programs, and also anytime when i'm standing still on a web page (like going the to bathroom 1 minutes or just talking on phone and not changing pages in my browser).

I'm not a XP XPert (hahah) so if someone could help me... plz

there is a way for you to test you conectivity. go to command prompt and type in IPCONFIG /ALL you will see your ip address as well as your ISP's IP, then type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -t (xxx stands for your ISP's IP address) and -t will keep the ping alive till you stop it,, so now you can really see if connection will fall into an idle mode after 45 seconds or not,, if it does the you got a faulty DSL router (or it could be your network card too) , if it does not then you have a problem with your browser,, a quick reinstall of the browser should fix it.

cheers
