Hi,
First of all my laptop is a dell inspiron 1520, I have windows vista on it and the router mentioned is an eircom broadband one.
I've had my laptop for around 2yrs now and in the past year it has given me alot of trouble with connecting to the internet via my wireless router.
I have concluded that the problem is not with the router as all other laptops in the house can connect just fine.
The main problem is the laptop cannot seem to identify the router. In the "connect to" window, other routers appear but mine does not.
Also some other times, my router does appear, but i can only get a "local connection" which doesnt really grant me internet access:P
I have tried reinstalling the drivers several times with the eircom cd that was originally supplied but to no avail.
I was wondering has anyone else had a similar problem, or do you think that the problem is with my wireless card? What troubles me the most is it picks up other networks but not mine:P And even on the odd chance that it does pick mine up, connecting seems useless!
