Save, *not* open, pdf files

Hi Folks,

Tried to run a search, but "pdf" didn't have enough characters to kick in. Question re clicking on PDF files while browsing: is there a way, using WinXP and IE6 (all patches applied), to simply save pdf files, as opposed to automatically opening them? I'm aware of the right-click "save target as" option, but I'm trying to duplicate whatever I did to make this the norm, when using WinME.

TIA.

I know that it has been a while since your post went up,,,,, You can create PDF and save the setting ain a way that other prople can't "save"or "ave as", "Print" , "Edit" or what ever security you want with it,, in your case it seem like the save option has been disabled so no luck there, HOWEVER, there is saying that says" if there is will , there is away.
You can download demo version of a software called "offLine Explorer", this software would allow you to download a whole web site to your local drive or a web page in your case, here is the link,, give it a try

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I need to clarify. What you state, I am aware of. My question, to more properly phrase it--- when I used WinMe, I had things arranged so that, while browsing, if I clicked on a PDF link, the system would prompt me to save it-- it would never just open it. I want to configure the same deal with WinXP, but for the life of me, can't figure out how. I've been to several tweak sites via Google, but no luck.

Note: I have the full Acrobat program, but also had it when using WinME. Hence, I'm still stumped.

By the way, folks stateside-- enjoy the holiday! :-)
