Internet Explorer Help

Hi !

I'm using Iexplorer 6. Previously when I was opening a site for e.g fastmail.fm or c2w.com or any other sites i was just giving the site address without the http:// . & the site opens without ny hassly. But now from some days if I'm trying to open sites without giving http:// in the address bar then the site is not opening & it was taking to a search site. I dun know wht is wrong with the system or iexplorer itself. Then to sort out the problem I tried to set the setting of Internet Explorer to default but when I opened the Internet options from Tools Menu then I find out tht there is no advanced Tab in that where as previously it was coming. If some one know somethng abt these problems then plz help me.

Firstly check your system for Malicious Code and Spyware using up to date Virus Definitions and a program such as Spybot.

If you are still having problems try an IE Repair.

Hmmm!

I checked my system for bots, viruses & trojans. All CLEARED. I'm using Norton Antivirus 2002 Corporate Edition fully updated. My system is also running very smoothly. No evidence for ny bots or viruses. I also tried IE Repair tool to repair IE 6 but still I'm ving the same problem. I'm giving some more detail abt my problem.

Suppose I want to open http://mail.yahoo.com & I'm giving as it is shown in the address bar then it is opening quite smoothly. But if I'm giving mail.yahoo.com without the http:// prefix then its showing

Forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

........& the address bar changes to

http://www001.upp.so-net.ne:3128@df8...mail.yahoo.com

Do u ve ny idea what this site(www001.upp.so-net.ne) is all abt & why everythng is going thru tht site.

Awaitng for reply
