No ethernet driver on my machine

Hi,

I have a new Windows 7 machine but it cannot connect to the internet as (I suspect) there is no ethernet driver installed under devices. The CDs that were supplied with the purchase have no ethernet drivers on them.

Please help!

Thanks Barbara,

I saw this screen, but which of the Realtek drivers do I choose? Is it the third one down:

Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Driver 7.061 2012/8/1 772k

or is it one of the others (I have a Win 7 machine)

Looking forward to your confirmation.

Jasan

Hi Barbara,

Unfortunately, the zip file does not contain an installer - it is a folder which contains many sub-folders; and I don't know where on my computer to place it/them.

My version of windows is 32 bit by the way.

Thanks
Jasan

I am now wondering if I have mis-diagnosed my problem of my internet not functioning. Here is a screenshot of my Device Manager

My Network adapters already has a realtek driver, however i have a 2 wire USB remote NDIS internet that has appeared with a yellow exclamation mark, indicating a problem. The properties windows indicates a code 28.

Is there any other information lacking for you to identify the real culprit of this issue?

Thanks

Jasan

Look if you have a separate CD for the 2Wire wireless ethernet, if not look at the site below.

Look at this from 2Wire, appears the Vista drivers work on Win 7

My computer doesn't use anything wireless, not the modem nor anything else.

Is this 2 Wire Ethernet coming up incorrectly then? I am thinking that installing either of the drivers (Legacy or Current) won't help, then.

Every one of my expansion slots are closed and sealed with the metal coverings; i.e. Never been opened yet (the computer is very new).

P.S. Thank you for trying to help me with this BTW, I really appreciate it. It seems to be proving a tough one, though. Should I try to get rid of this "Other device - 2 Wire USB etc etc." or will it just come back next time I turn the computer on.

What make and model do you have ?

Lets have a look at what setup you have Get Everest / copy and paste the Computer Summary section. Leave out the Debug
PCI section
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

Install Everest and run
Click Report (top menu) > Report Wizard > Next
Choose System Summary Only > Next
Choose Plain Text > Finish and wait for report to generate
Click Save to File and leave the File Name as Report, then click the Save as Type
dropdown and choose Report files (*txt) and click Save (n.b. Save to desktop is best as easy place to find it, use Browse to locate desktop)

Do NOTE that some parts of this report may have information on your email address and IP address, edit these out and resave the text doc before attaching
