IE v6 help me please

ok well this problem has just recently occured after i del my cookies and temp internet pages. when i go to download things it wont ask me to save as instead it only opens it any ideas?

This should fix it:

Open your registry editor by going to "Run" on your start menu. Then type "regedt32" without the quotes and hit OK.

Goto:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Restrictions

and/or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Int ernet Explorer\Restrictions

Change the value "NoBrowserSaveAs" to 0 instead of 1

i dont have that internet explorer under that option i have winxp pro if that makes a difference

No, it doesn't make a difference if it's Pro or Home. These are IE 6 Settings. I'm stumped then, that is usually the cause. I apologize for not being able to help.

maybe its not 6 you know how to check my version of internet explorer?
