Question Adware

I have spybot which does a great job and Zero pop-up program for the pop ups but I still get all kinds of internet adds that drive me crazy! The funny thing is that there is a site which always pops up and I get a notice from my anti virus that the site is infected. How do i stop these adds and block these sites?

Thanks!

Try Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search and Destroy softwares. Run they, they will kill the spywares on your computer. Go it!

Yeahhhhh,
I know what you mean, nunforever. I, too would like to get rid of the junk, but personally, I haven't the finances to purchase any solid software. So, I use the freeware. Slimbrowser helps a bit, with a pop-up stopper, and as you said, Spy-Bot does a good job.
You know, maybe we shouldn't complain too much about the advertisements. They pay the bills for a lot of people, and might just allow a lot of free stuff to be available.
Yeah, I kow they are a p-i-t-a, but what the heck, so are a lot of other things.
I know the ads that infuriated me the most were those flashing things. Then I found out I can hit the "Stop" button and they freeze right up. That helped a lot.
Oh well, good luck finding something. Post back if you do!

A very good "FREE" program is spyware blaster found at www.wilderssecurity.com. It marks hundreds of spyware names in your registery so they don't get to be loaded as background programs. In fact after using this for awhile, spybot, adaware and other like programs will no long find any spyware on your computer. I give it 5 stars
