Unhappy Browser Problems

Browser Info:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6

Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp1.020828-1920
Update Versions:; SP1; Q328970; Q324929; Q810847; Q813951

OS: Windows XP Professional, SP1

The problem:

It works fine while surfing a page, but when you click on a link, and that link wants to open in a new window, the frame of the new window pops up, but there is nothing in the middle, it is clear, and it never loads.

Possible Cause:

I was deleting folders off my hard drive, some I created that I did not need anymore and then folders like, “Save” and other advertising folders that I don’t know how it got on there. But that is when it begin to act up

Trouble shooting:

So far, I restored defaults in the browser tool sections. I also tried system restore and none of this has worked so far. I tried using Norton system works. I’ve used the real-player browser and it works find with out a problem. It is only with internet 6 that is acting up.

Can Anyone Point me in the Right Direction with this Problem?

Thanks in Advance

Have you tried to 'repair' I.E.?
Check here

Are you using a firewall like Zonealarm? Your settings may be set too high.

I also recomend you use a program like Spywareblaster and Ad-aware Will they help? Probably not, but they won't hurt either.

also pop-up blockers, ad blockers, security settings and parental contol settings can cause these problems.

Since you found advertising stuff in your pc, there might be adware or spyware installed. Try using Spybot or Ad-aware to scan and if possible, do an AV scan too.
