IE doesn't work in Guest Acct

When I log in as Admin, I'm able to use either Opera (my personal preference) or IE for browsing. If I switch to the "Guest" account, IE does not function. The browser window opens, but times out. Have I tweaked a setting by mistake in my admin account that prevents IE??
Opera works fine in Guest, so I've discounted netwok settings. Can anyone help?? Some people - my wife, for example, are not comfortable with Opera. How do I enable dual browsers in Guest??
