Unable to connect ....

Hi there again,
I m unable to connect to the net through proxy servers, like my isp "proxy.gerrys.net", when i enter this proxy its gives me "Connection Failed"msg.
i m using net through LAN.
my server proxy is 192.168.0.1.
i want to connect thruogh proxy server it gives me nice speed.
plz help me

Please explain you situation a bit better, I would love to help if I can, but I have to understand what are you trying to do.

what kins of Net access do you have (dailup,ADSL,Cable) ?
Do you have your own proxy server or that is your ISP's proxy you are talking about ?
Is there are existing account on the Proxy server for you ?
do you have the proxy address and port setting right ?
what kind of OS are you running ?
Howmany NIC do you have in your system ?

These are some question that would help us out

well, I am using LAN (My cable administrator uses 56k modem, other connections are very expensive here),
I am using Winxp pro, my cable administrator uses linux 9.0.
my current proxy is set to 192.168.0.1 and port 8080.
in past I was using my ISP's proxy instead of 192.168.0.1 and that gave me nice speed compare to 192......
But now i do that but msg "Connection Failed".
and yes my cable administrator has blocked many ports like for kazaa and other p2p sharing softs.
