hi i am planning to add a linux os on to my computer. but i don't want to use a seperate hd for it. can i use windows partition and install linux over and will still be able to use windows xp and linux os whenever?
What linux distro are you planning to use? Most popular distros will partition, install, and setup the dual boot mostly automatic from their install cd.
I have not used Suse but understand it is a fine distro. If you purchase Suse you will receive installation help and documentation.
Here is a straight forward link explaining how to install Mandrake linux. This will give you an idea of what goes on. By the way, the current version of Mandrake is free to download. Suse install would be similiar in many respects although I could not find much info online as yet. http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/demo...ke9.0/Install/ http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ftp.php3#iso http://www.distrowatch.com/
