Exclamation Live Linux Problems

HELP!!!

I have downloaded and burned a few bootable distros of linux. They all work on my other computer. I cant get them to boot on my XP machine though. I get a bunch of cloop errors and there are a bunch of files it says it cant find. It also tells me i passed an undefined video mode so i have to select one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are you doing a dual operating system install? xp and Linux? If so did you get the option to configure a lilo boot option? If you didn't then it's probably having trouble finding somwhere to put Linux on the hard drive. It should have gone through and created 3 partitions. Sounds to me the iso's you have aren't quite right. When you do it on the other computer are you running it off the cd's or putting it on the harddrive? What brand and version of Linux are you trying to install? You have to have a Linux formatted patition to put the program on. As for the video usually just select the resulution you normally would run on windows usually will work.

You're trying to run linux from a live CD? which distros? cloop errors are physical errors on the cd. It's possible that the discs have scratches on them, or there were errors when you burned them. Although, if they worked fine on your other comp, that wouldn't make sense. Perhaps your cd drive is broken? Also, when booting, you might want to try passing 'cheat codes' to set the video mode to something else. These codes vary depending on the distro.
