I tried Evil. Lost display on the first reboot and did not want to reinstall. The installer does not give you many options either.

I've heard thay they were going to revamp many things with they're next official release. The reason I am interested in Evil is that A.) its different, and B.) I like the ideals behind which they are building it (not following the crowd). I don't think I'll ever use it as a main OS though cause it isn't designed to be a server at all. I'll look into peanut.

I've tried previous versions of Peanut, and I completely despise the distro. It's got a lot of bleeding-edge apps that won't work very well, it doesn't give you a choice of what to install, and almost all of the stuff that is installed you'll never use.

Have you got Peanut mixed up with something else? Peanut does not come bloated like the big distros ( mandrake, redhat, suse...). The Peanut download is about 400 mb compared to three times that in alot of others. The best thing about Peanut and the other small distros is that you can pick and choose what to install for packages later on. I have found Peanut to be very stable and configurable and darned fast. But thats the beauty of linux - theres something for everyone - different strokes for different folk. I hav'nt had time to install 9.4 yet and I want to try Yoper and Libranet as well but lets face it, they are all basically the same.
