Windows Server 2003 - read only

Have fresh installed a copy of Windows 2003 Small Business Server Edition. The previous server was NT4 and copied all files from their old Hard drive to the Hard drive of the 2003 Server.

Everything appears to work fine but only when the old NT4 hard drive is in the 2003 server, however when this NT4 drive is removed - all files on the 2003 server become read only.

Have looked at permissions and seem to be running around in circles. Someone please help - I have run out of ideas.

re install 2k3 without nt4 drive in, then put nt4 in and copy files when 2k3 is complete
