Mandrake/Mandriva is ok. Redhat is more of a commercial product.

The best linux operating systems for migrating windows users are PCLinuxOS, Mepis, Xandros, and Linspire.

PCLinuxOS and Mepis are totally free.

windows is DOS based or DOS emu (depending on version)
When commad line started in 1970 their were 2 lanugauges used to control a computer DOS and Unix.

The orginal unix is plan 9 and is all commad promt

Mac os X is Unix

Linux has 200+ distros and is a unix clone

BSD is a unix descandant

Aix, Solaris, Hp-ux, Minix are all based on unix

if you still want DOS crap then use os warp by IBM
