same problem

I am having the same problem. I initially had xp on my dell inspiron 300m notebook. I deleted the installation in favor of fedoracore 4 (which I like very much). I then decided it would be quite nifty to have a dual boot system - but when I reinserted my XP disc it went blank after a brief flash of the 'checking hardware configuration settings'. I'm becoming very frustrated trying to remedy this problem, and have not found a viable solution despite about a day's worth of earnest searching.

problem solved

I solved my problem, though probably not in an optimal manner:

I deleted all entries in my partition table using fdisk, after logging in as root.

Upon reboot my windows xp installation disk loaded successfully and without incident.

cheers.
