Problems Connecting Win2000 Laptop to Ultra10 running Solaris8

Hi,

This is the bost basic of questions that I am hoping someone can answer. I have a Win2000 laptop (as mentioned) and would like to connect it to my Ultra 10 (Running and installed with Solaris 8), however my issue is that it has not been configured to accept any connection from TCP/IP, so I need a serial connection from one host to the other.

Can anyone offer me advice on what equipment (cable) I need to complete this procedure so I can run a 'Terminal Session' from my laptop to the Ultra 10 and where I can buy one from.

I imagine this is what you need:

Just make sure you have a db9 connection on the back of your Ultra 10 - it should have one.

If you're using hyperterm, your settings will need to be:

Bits per second: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware
