Windows 2003 Server Home Network DHCP etc

I'm running Windows SBS 2003 with two NICs.
Here's what I would like to do:

I would like to have one network card get it's IP from my service provider via DHCP.

I would like to run a DHCP server on the other card to serve my little internal
private network.

I'm getting the the Event ID 1053 error I see referenced in many threads.

Am I forced to have a fixed IP on the external NIC if I want to run a DHCP server on the internal NIC?

I looked in the Cracker Jack box and all I got was the "lick and stick" tattoo, not the decoder ring.

Wow, you run SBS for small home network ? isn't that an over kill ?

In order to run your server and share your network connection you would need to have static IP on one NIC and DHCP on the other..... if you are planing to use the Exchange server on the SBS then I see you installing SBS otherwise I would suggest to cut your lost and get a cheap Router that does the DHCP for your network plus it does provide a needed firewall solution.
