Prices fall over time......do they?
Frankly, it seems an odd question..........

Incidently, does anyone have experience of Vista - ie a Beta-User? - - - I too have heard it will come with a huge hike in RAM requirement - pretty darn silly of MS if anyone agrees......I've trawled thro' the Vista section but it all... a bit....
When you think that Linux has no such issues (well, not too many, eh?) and it ships with OpenOffic that saves you about £350 and has a Photoshop look-similar saving another £500...........
Where is the sense in hiking the price, or is this to convince us that we still need to pay Microsoft to fix the faults the earlier Windows didn't address?
Over time most consumer items have fallen in price - the first calculators were £75 (Gold, Sinclair) and are now given away as Promotions. TV's were £1000's and have reached a modest £200 (for a bigger screen and colour!)......washing machines, grief I bought a 2-slice toaster for £4 inTesco - the box must be worth £1 of that.......YET

Microsoft continues to push up its prices........
......Now where is the sense in that?
Soon we are going to be "given" the PC and have to pay £1000 for the right to use it.
(-but by them almost everyone will be using Ubuntu, once the Geeks get into the Real World and make it work straight out of the Box..)
