Archive tarbaals

Hi!!

I`m using on and off first Cladera Openlinux 2.4 then mandrake 8.1,know soon I will install Mandrake9.0.

The question is how to archive the tar ball?

Please someone could explain me step by step so I can easy understand the answer.

Not real sure why you want to archive a tarball but here is some basic stuff on tarballs.
