Windows Server 2003 Networking

Hi there

I have a machine with Windows 2003 server installed on it.

The machine has 2 network cards one set up as 222.222.1.2 and the other set up as 222.222.2.2

The 1.2 network is a toking ring card.
The 2.2 is a normal ethernet card.

Both are working from the server.
Eg i can ping 222.222.1.60 from the server and ping 222.222.2.74 from the server.

My problem is this. I'm on machine 222.222.2.74 and can ping 222.222.2.2 fine. I can also ping 222.222.1.2 fine too.

I can not how ever ping 222.222.1.60 But the server can.

Any one know how i can resolve this problem?

Thank you

In order to ping a machine on a different subnet , you need a router.

You need to configure the Win 2k3 server to route packets between the two subnets.

I'm kinda fuzzy on this, but I believe IP forwarding is disabled by default on 2k3 and you need to enable it by setting IPEnableRouter in the registry key Tcpip\Parameters to 1.
