Exclamation problem in booting XP in dual operating system XP and linux 9

Hi,
I have 2 hard disks. I have installed win xp on 2nd hard disk first and then i have installed red hat linux 9 on 1st hard disks. At the time of installation i allowed the GRUB loader to install on MBR. Now i can boot linux but cant boot xp though i have option to select from either of them.

only 3 lines display and process hangs up there.
Lines r something like:-
noverify....
chain loader +1

boot into linux, and post the contents of grub.conf (/boot/grub/grub.conf)
It's very likely a small mistake in that file.

I believe XP has to be the last OS installed, otherwise it gets messed up.

Rule of thumb is to install windows on the first(and primary) partition of the master hard drive.

Linux can be installed anywhere else and booted successfully on primary or logical partitions.

I'm not saying this was your problem. It just cuts down on possible problems down the line.

always install master drive in xp then install any dirve or harddisk in linux, unix or whatever or

go to dos prompt

fdisk press ( 2) - select active partition (this is your xp harddisk)
and reboot pc.
