Boot Failure

I seem to have the all too familar Boot Failure problem; I tried the fdisk /mbr with a Win98 start-up disk, disconnected the cd roms and made sure that the setting on the hard-drive is set to Master; but no. First the message said the mbr had not been updated and second back to Boot Failure

. So I am all ears for advice.

What is your operating system ? Why did you think fdisk /mbr would fix the problem ? what was the problem to begin with ?????
