Windows Server 2003 - Internet with router

Hi

I have recently installed windows server 2003 on a computer that i am wanting to act as a web server, I also have a wireless / 4 port ethernet Router, when I connect the router to any computer other than the server It works but on the server it doesn't, I can't access the internet or look at the router itself,

Currently on the server I have installed

Application Server
Mail Server
Print Server

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong and How to solve it,

thanx Intrepid

2003 Server by default installs DHCP module, therefore, your router and DHCP server from 2003 system would have conflict. Disable / remove the DHCP option from your server and try again.

Cheers

Does you server get an IP address from the router ? If so, open IE, go to Tools / Internet Options / and set the Privacy level to Medium and reset the Security to Default, Also just for test.. add www.google.com to the list of trusted site try it again.

Cheers

Right the Router wasn't giving an IP address but I did it manually and set the router up so it would use it as static, but that still didn't work however I stumbled across something I have never seen before which is Microsofts Network Load Balancing, once I disabled that it seems to work OK, still got to do some tests and stuff but I think it is sorted,

Thanx For your help

If I can just hijack this thread for a minute

I have a very similar problem and a similar set up. I have a laptop running Win Server 2003 which is connecting to a cable modem/router. When I installed Server 2003 i check the Internet Connection and it was working fine (I added Google to trusted zone and it connected just fine, picked up an IP address etc). All good.

Then I installed AD, DNS and File Server and restarted.

Now I cannot connect to the Internet from the Server - I get no IP address at all. I cannot ping my router (192.168.0.1) where as another machine I have connected (running XP) can see it, ping it etc fine.

I presume it is something to do with the roles I have added but am a bit lost. The previous poster found removing Network Load Balancing worked - I don't have this installed to start!

An ipconfig /all readout gives me thus:
ip add = 0.0.0.0
subnet mask = 0.0.0.0
dhcp enabled = yes
DHCP server = 255.255.255.255 (Should be 192.168.0.1 (my router) surely?)

Any help/ideas/abuse greatly appreciated
