Terminal is easy. I view it as an antiquated way to achieve the end result is all.
As I said, I used it around Ten years ago.

Yum looks pretty cool though. Easy to use, but still needs a UI front end. Best of both worlds.
I assume I could save often used scripts as "click to execute" files instead of typing every time.

Tried Suse, Ubuntu, couple of others. I use IPcop and managed to install some extras on that, so I'm not doing too bad.
Also checking out Clarkconnect, since it looks like it might be a handy server solution.

EDIT: I like point and click. That's why I moved from the C64. An OS shouldn't need technical expertise to achieve desired results. Certainly not combinations of command switches.
The Install DVD picks up my video card right after boot. It's the display that isn't managed. It works fine at 1024x768, but it is larger than that. Vista/XP runs it at full resolution, right off, but not this. Nor touchpad clicks, which is why I was so dismayed.

I allready reinstalled it back to the original partition I'll progress as I get time i suppose.

When Linux has the ease of use Windows has, and the compatability, it will be widely acceptable.

Thumbs up More people are uing it...

As of a couple of years ago all the french govt and schools have turned to linux, most of
Asia and various other countries in the world have gone over to linux fed up with windows
dynamic link library and ctrl .alt.del, and having lockups whereby manager doesnt work, etc.(linux stops it and kills it and can even restart it without system wide panic),it is perhaps now a skip and a jump away from perfection ,with a large repo of free software and stability far greater than any windows distro I have used ,which is all of them.
Best of all ,its free.and limitations with drivers are because of its GNU license, not to say they cannot be added from a repository of which there are many,Livna is a good one. get yum extender!!

yum extender is in the repo @livna.com it is a GUI frontend for the yum package manager and it very easy and usefull,as well as quick.
Persevere it is worth it as once its setup it is self perpetuating in its updates and is rock solid in respect of reliability, you can click and point and even for those with limited experience can use it as a solid workspace O/S.
Once you have GPG key for fedora 9 you can go to add and remove and add it from list.

Spent more time trying to get things done the way I want than actually using it. The fact my touchpad wouldn't work correctly was a major PITA, It's a standard device. Like a mouse.
Anyway, I dumped it. Maybe i'll try again in another 12 months.

Its a hell of a system, took me best part of the day to dual boot and install to where I was happy, but its well worth it,got rotating desktops, talking Amsn, all my players and games and development apps,A-z of apps.!!
Its so cool I had to put a Bugatti Veyron on my desktop.
Good Luck with future efforts it is worth pursuing.

There is a fedora forum where they will awnser any qeustions on touchpad driver, etc and they probably could give you a link to relevant package ,I know acer has legacy applications in that regard in the repo as well as other drivers from lots of systems.
They are the Horses mouth so to speak and a recommended resource for any questions.
good luck in that regard, have a good search in the repo with yum extender first, look for system specific 1st i.e acer touchpad or dell touchpad.
