booting message in WinXP

Before Windows XP Pro loading screen shows.. 2 beeping sounds from my computer is heard and the black screen says

"System Halted... System Drive Not Ready"

what is that?? i check EVERYTHING even my mother and all the cables and everything seems to be hooked up correctly and checked and double checked.. what can be the problem?

IneRtia dRaft,, First thing is first,, you should post this message on proper board, that way you will get more respond.

Second: That error will be seen if your hard drive does not have an active partition. Please let us know if you computer was running before this happened !?! , were you trying to install Windows XP by any chance ?
