Windows 2000 + RedHat Linux 9 Dual Boot

How do i pull this off. I have a 60 gig hard drive that I would like to install both OS on, then a 160 gig hard drive that I would like to use as storage. Which one should I install first and is there anything else i need to know? thanks

that link has the same question and about 500 answers. nice to read several opinions about it, they seem to have everything addressed there.

Just as a side note..

If you are going to use the extra HD for storage and will want it accassable (and writable) from both Windows and linux, format it with a FAT32 file system as Linux can not write to NTFS nor can Windows write to ReiserFS or EXT2 / EXT3

Linux does have *experimental* RW support for NTFS but you will most likely trash the HD if you enable writing support as itis still to experimental

FAT32 is easily read and written to by both OS's

and also the linux partitions will not be seen by windows. but as deanrantala said nix will be able to use the windows fat32 partition just fine. install winblows 1st then nix all will be well. so what id do is split the 60 gig in 2 partitions then put winblows on 1st partition then put nix on the second partition. then format the 2nd drive with fat32. then both can use the big 2nd drive.

if ya put nix on the 160 gig winblows wont see that drive. myself id use like 40 gig partition for windows and then 20 gig for nix. linux dont have the bloatware windows does it dont need as much space here on mine with lots installed on redhat 8
