Try a utilty called FlaskMPEG or Virtual DUB, I know those guys will support converting the files you extract from DVD, which I believe are vob files into MPEG.

Does Flask do mpeg1 TO vob????

Still checking, but from what I can see, it doesn't seem like there's anything yet in existence that will do that conversion for you. Plenty of software that goes from mpeg1 to vob...but doesn't seem to be anything the other way around. Maybe someone else here has an answer?
