Thumbs up Not so disk contented.

Linux has some issues in its gaming abilities which is why I use windows xp with Linux fc9,but it has over 300 free games in its repositories and about 15 or so emulators for different platforms,so enabling access to 1000`s of games from roms to playstation.
Amongst the most popular games I use are open arena (quake 3 clone),Nexuiz and unreal tournament 2004 the latter proving you can install good fast games to install and run well under Linux.
The only reason more games are not installable is the lack of .sh and the programmers knowledge of the windows system and not the Penguin, who if they were real engineers they would have their head up tux`s arse and be surprised to find is as fast and faster than a lot of windows systems. If you want proof CU @nexuiz DC beginner server and I will blow you away with my Linux.

Mailing Lists

Mailing lists are special email addresses which send email to all users who have subscribed to them. Sending an email to a mailing list reaches all users interested in discussing a specific topic and users who are available to help other users with that topic. Such as Touchpad drivers for specific machines if the generic doesn't work.

To subscribe to a mailing list, follow the appropriate link below and fill out the subscription form, or send an email message to <listname>-request@redhat.com (replace <listname> with the desired mailing list name, such as fedora-list) with only the word subscribe in the subject. The mailing lists are hosted at http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo
or just go to forums or go here and read :http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f9/en_US/ you will then find links to relevant issues and a portal to the community that is open source. (:^D)

Linux is far better than Windows. One thing I love most about it is that we do not need to deal with anti-piracy schemes and those additional 'hoop jumping'.
Were linux popular enough, you would certainly see more hoop jumping. Not all linux is free.

Nothing to do with developers not being aware. It's down to money mate, just as it allways was. They won't develop for a platform when there is a risk of poor/no return.

Talking sourceforge.net

Thankfully there are 1000`s of developers who do it for free and are`not motivated by the buck as are Microsoft, and although Linux doesn`t ship with some things , with the aid of repositories (many of which are university's) once the GPG key has been installed the missing components can be added,i.e mp3 codecs and mpeg2 codecs etc,as well as some of the 100,ooo+ packages at sourceforge.net.3000+ games in development and lots of other things from communication to open office,in both windows and linux platforms and even mac os.
The development in computing isn't restricted to linux, but right across the board as all systems have thier good and bad sides, the best of them with regard to stability and for completeness in regard to applications is Linux as it is in most cases ready to go with everything, secure firewall, office suite and networking capabilities ,etc. which are all GNU licensed and are free. (:^D)
The biggest robbing b*stards in the world are those that make game consoles as when games are developed they are done so on computer, but it is generally the last platform for release, after the xbox,ps1,2,3 etc and yet it is the best platform to play the games on ,talk about money motivated. (:^D)
Bill Gates and Microsoft come a close second in that arena.

be agrigous and a Penguin, not a sheep Baah!!.

For those of the Ubuntu persuasion here is a comparison recently done in Australia between Fedora and Ubuntu distros.

For users who are already familiar with Linux, Fedora 9 is an excellent choice. Robust security features and installation options make it somewhat more versatile than Ubuntu, which offers a more streamlined (and therefore more restricted) installation. For most users, though, including millions interested in trying Linux for the first time, Fedora lacks the polish and ready-to-run simplicity of its more popular rival.

Ubuntu 8.0.4 offers a level of functionality comparable to that of Mac OS and Windows, from delivery to installation to daily use. Unfortunately, the ties that bind all Linux distributions - primarily a lack of support for major Windows- and Mac-based business, design, and gaming applications - still hold Ubuntu back from mass popularity. For users with such moderate computing needs as Web browsing, e-mail, and basic document creation, however, Hardy is a compelling option.
hopefully will help some peeps decide on their new O/S.

fedora core has never let me down and I have used Debian and Linux distros across the board, having around 38 different distros at different times,FC 9 is about as good as I want it and dual booting is a snap loading windows first and using linux partition management.updating and installing packages is also a snap with yum,apt-get and synaptic as well as proprietary package installer.
so as its free and open source my only comment is Linux rules whilst Microsoft drools.
