Question MS Office

I decided to do a clean reinstall of Windows XP Home and then locate all my program files on a partition other than "C:". My XP is up to date with all security fixes and SP1 installed. Drive C and all other partitions were formatted to NTFS format.

Ever since installing MS Office 2000 on Drive E, whenever I start any Office component (Word, Excel, etc) the first thing I see is a window stating the the application is being installed, then that window is replaced by another wondow stating that the application is being configured. This whole process only takes about 5 to 10 seconds, and after the windows close Office is up ang running normally. Prior to reinstalling XP and all programs, Office worked flawlessly.

Any ideas?

did you install the MS office on the same profile as the one you are seeing this issue or you install it under different profile ?

Take a look at the MS KB article, Windows Installer Appears Every Time a Program Is Started.

Although the title refers to "A Program," it is actually about MS Office programs.
