Question Add/Remove - Not able to Remove a Program

When adding my scanner program back onto my computer after having it wiped clean from a nasty virus, I inadvertantly forgot to unplug the scanner from the CPU.

I noticed something was wrong when I was receiving messages telling me that certain .dll files were not able to load.

I cancelled the scanner install program and then tried to uninstall all the components of the program. I was able to uninstall all but one.

I cannot uninstall one program and cannot reinstall over it, AND I can't get rid of it. All that was in the program were shortcuts.

What other method is available to use to delete the component?

Send a message via MSN to snowmonkey
probably best way of doing it is to install the software AGAIN and then run the un-install progarm that comes with the software itself.

cheers

Since it won't let you reinstall the program, do you know where the leftover files are? If you know that, you can try deleting them manually and then try the reinstall.

Failing that, what's the make/model of the scanner? That information might help us help you.

You can also try using regedit and do the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, MICROSOFT, WINDOWS, CURRENT VERSION, UNINSTALL, and find the program there, and then delete it. That may help you to re-install the program.
Hope this helps.
