Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Pro
Outlook Contacts Form
Outlook allows contact forms to be edited and exchanged substituted for the default contact form, and it would rewrite all existing data into this newly constructed form. So far, this is the advice in help, but the practice looks different.
1. Having created a new form, called “perfect form”, I have published it as suggested. When a new entry is created, this form will open (from new) and will accept inserted data. After saving and accessing it again, it will not open as the new “perfect form”, but as the default showing the inseted data. Why, and what else should I do?
2. Most of my contact entries are written into the default form. Having created the new “perfect form”, I would like to have all data transferred into this form and I also would like to see this form when I open Outlook contacts. There is a reference in help to do this with Visual Basic, but I have no experience with programming of this kind.
Outlook Contacts Search
I am forced to change to Outlook Contacts database, as my Psion 5 gave up the ghost .
The two alternative search functions in Outlook work well, but in one aspect they can not match Psion.
In Psion any word/digit searched would be found and highlighted. One would step from one result to an other, clearly seeing the found item.
In Outlook this is not the case. When a word/digit is inserted in the detail search, it will find it all right, but it will not highlight it and consequently it is extremely tedious and time consuming to sort out which result one was looking for.
Does anyone has an idea how it could be configured in Outlook so that that searched word/digit would be highlighted? If not, could this be programmed? Could anybody do it?
Please help me to resolve these problems.
Many thanks in advance.
